A writing group for writers who want to be published.

One of the best ways to help your writing is to surround yourself with other writers, all of you working towards the same goal - getting published.

You don't have to do this alone. This is a writing group that's going to help you succeed.

Why Join The Group?

The best thing you can do for your writing is get a combination of feedback, support, and accountability.

A good writing group should provide all three.

Step One: Show up

When you're trying to improve your writing, it's totally normal to be scared or worried that you're going to find out that you've wasted your time or that you're not any good. This is complete nonsense, but it's often enough to keep people from even trying. So if you show up, you're doing one of the hardest creative things in the world.

Step Two: Bring your work

Here's the tough part - you have to share your work. It gets read aloud (by me) and we go line-by-line, word-by-word through up to 3 pages of what you're writing per session. (Google Docs and Microsoft Word are preferable for this)

Step Three: Get feedback

We go line-by-line, word-by-word through everything you write. And you'll get asked questions about -- why did you choose this, what are you trying to say, etc -- and hopefully this gives you a chance to see what the editing process is while also helping you learn a few things to help you write better in the future.
